Checked out of our Port Orleans Riverside Resort and into the Beach Club Villas. We’re no longer “slummin’ it,” but livin’ the lifestyle of the rich and famous!! We’ll be here for five days trying to pass ourselves off as coming from money. I tried talking with a British accent that turned into a French accent that went into an Australian accent just attempting to fit in—however, Mary was not impressed with my diverse brogue. I don’t think the snooty people were very impressed when Beth and I wheeled in the stroller with luggage piled high and the swim noodles fell off while we were trying to exit the elevator.

A return trip to Epcot today found us riding Spaceship Earth again. It’s such a great lesson in history, as well as describing what our future may have in store for work as well as play. At Club Cool, I purchased frozen Cokes for the kids to get them all going on their first sugar rush of the day. We attempted to get in line at the character spot to get autographs and pictures with Mickey, Minnie, and Donald, but it was going to be a 50 minute wait so we opted not to stand there that long.

Instead we headed over to World Showcase and selected pastries from a French bakery and fish and chips from the United Kingdom for lunch. I tried the Crème Brulee and fortunately didn’t have to share too much with anyone.

A new Kim Possible attraction involves becoming an agent on assignment with a transmitter that directs you to certain places in the park. Unfortunately, we weren’t very clear on the directions and ended up aborting our mission.

Patrick stopped in Italy for tiramisu and then we made another stop for chicken nuggets in America to keep the natives from being too restless. We watched a show on the streets of France with a performer balancing on several chairs stacked at least five high.
This was probably the hottest day yet, so we tried to stay hydrated with plenty of water. Frozen Lemonade really does the trick for keeping cool, too.

Innoventions is a great place to play and learn at the same time. We played a Waste Management Recovery game that made learning about recycling fun as well as thought provoking. Our team name was the Trash Crashers, and we created a nature conservatory from our recycled garbage for our final project.

At Mission Space, we played our favorite Mission Space Race taking on the roles of astronauts for one game and mission control specialists for the next game. Patrick tried to convince Mary to go on the Mission Space ride, but it just wasn’t going to happen.

Our reservations for Spoodles on the Boardwalk were for 5:15. The Beach Club villas and Epcot are all within walking distance of Boardwalk . I had the Lemon Garlic shrimp linguini and a slice of Cheesecake. After supper, I had the opportunity to meet Todd, a friend from junior high and high school, whom I hadn’t seen in some 30 years. It was fun catching up and reminiscing about good times from the past.
